Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?
Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

Yes I enjoy it. No I'm not gonna list pros and cons cause that sounds like work

^This
I’m going against typical pros and cons here
Pros
- great people, generally nicer people / more empathetic people too (McKinsey takes upward feedback very seriously and many people can’t get promoted to AP or P simply because bad people management skills)
- focuses on career development more than industry
- quicker career progression (people could ‘cry’ for delay of promotion by 6 months). Compared that to industry, it’s a very different timeline
Cons
- hard to exit to industry for revenue generating role
- harder to exit as you become more senior in MBB as you expect higher TC, while industry expect higher years of experience + operating experience
- reliance on big clients who can pay and willing to pay
Overall yes
Pros:
-phenomenal teams
-interesting cases
-great pay/benefits
Cons:
-WLB
-Politics can slow progress (internal and external)
-very high expectations stressful if having a bad day/week

Yea I’m really enjoying my time overall
What do you mean by “enjoy”
Pros: 1. Benefits 2. Learning opportunities 3. Generally really fascinating people to work with
Cons: 1. The pendulum swings often and severely even within the day in terms of stress levels and contentment 2. Politics 3. I sound like a robot
