I can look back on some decisions I was involved with where I wasn't too happy with the outcome. Not that the decision was wrong, but because I got the sense that someone who really needed the job wasn't going to get it. That can be difficult to deal with, but I have to do the right thing by the company. Still, you can't help but be troubled sometimes.
Like you said, it's never done because you have a personal bias for one or the other. You have to do your job right, and the only way to do that is to pick the most fitting candidate. Don't feel about doing your job well.

nope, because at the end of the day it's about making the right decision for the team.
I have felt this way in the past because there have been candidates that I absoutely adored but when I looked at it objectively, based on experience, there were people who's resume's were better and they had more experience. At the end of the day you have to hire the person who is the best fit for the job, not the person who you liked the most.
