Why did ALL our clients go from radio silence to “We need to sign the SPA on 12/31 at 12PM sharp” in 1 day? I was supposed to go on vacay on the 28th. Hmpf

You answered your own question: you were supposed to go on vacation.

likefunny

Yup. I was supposed to work half days today and tomorrow and take off Dec. 25-27, so of course yesterday afternoon opposing counsel filed his response to my application for writ of cert, and I need to reply by Tuesday. So I’ll be working all week. That’s how it goes.

Y'all. I had a deal closing December 31 that got pushed to Jan 6! This has never happened to me! I am beyond excited. Now I have time for the three other deals on my list...but still!

like

I feel you. I’ve never been this busy this close to Christmas.

I had one that was convinced we were going to close 12/31 and we just got the SPA three days ago. Then the structure changed. But mercifully, at 2 pm today the client realized we were never going to make it and decided to slow their roll. SO glad they made the call on the 23rd and not the 26th.

@A2 it’s a Christmas miracle, truly

Same thing here - this WFH period has turned everyone into work monsters, because no one is taking vacations. Also, I’m just tonight finalizing negotiations on two deals that I turned the drafts on back in July. Haven’t heard from anyone since.

like

Sounds like you need to move up your vaca to start today.

Note to self pandemic or not... I’m reminding myself bad idea to go on vacation end of the year since I’m having to work (answer emails & calls). 2021-Going off to an island and forget to bring charger.

Because it’s December. Happens every year to us even if the YE is arbitrary for the matter

I have been working in an interim role as a portfolio manager. I was promised that the role would be mine. However, after doing the job for 2 months, I have been advised that we might not get the funding for the role and I might not get the raise and the title but my responsibilities will be the same.

Its a political minefield.

How should I back out elegantly that I need to be compensated fairly and competitively from this mess without burning any bridges

Hi fishes, my previous employer has not given me the money for Earned Leaves, they are saying it's not in their policy.. I have a variable bonus of 100000. Out of this they have given only 19,000 in the month of December after 6 months of joining...But they are not giving me any bonus after completing 1 year and 2 months.. They have stopped my appraisal as well...

So in total, I lost my appraisal money, bonus and Earned Leaves money... I feel betrayed and cheated...

What should I do ??

I’m seriously enatkng to get into an SE role and have been searching for Associate Sales Engineers that do NOT require SE experience since I’ve none. It’s proving to be difficult. Most companies for some reason are requiring 2-3 years of experience for the Associate role. 😭 Any Sales Engineers who know of companies hiring those with no experience? I am in tech as a BDR already.

What is the process for negotiating a job offer (from a firm or otherwise)? Do you have to be ready to ask for more salary/bonus/other perks right when they call you to make the offer, or can you ask for time to consider and then call back with your additional requests? I’m not the best at thinking quickly on the spot, so feel like I could be more thoughtful if I took a day or two to consider my requests.
