Highly recommend getting an MBA to help with this
MBA=2000% more creativity and attracting hot men/women.
It only gets worse the more senior you are… Seeing a junior team nail it, stings a lot more.
But it happens, learn from it and know you’ll never bat a thousand.
Yes. But don’t beat yourself up about it.
Reverse engineer the idea and see how the other team got the the idea. You can use the steps to help yourself on the next brief.
This happens a lot, even as a senior. The key is to not get too frustrated about it, learn from it, and use what you’ve learned on future briefs. There will be plenty of times when the other team on the job feels exactly the same about your work. Our brains are all unique and will find killer solutions on some briefs and not others.
Or even worse, when you had the same idea, but just didn’t how to explain it, so you either didn’t show it or did show it but they way you said just didn’t communicate it well
simple is hard
Don’t sweat it twin. This is a sign you’re working somewhere solid. If your idea is always THE idea, odds are you’re not being challenged and won’t grow creatively
At some point the shoe is going to be on the other foot: you’ll be the one who nails the brief beautifully and simply. But it doesn’t happen consistently every time thereafter - it just gets easier to know when you *haven’t* nailed it, easier to scrap a weak idea, and easier to pivot, probe, refocus.
Normal.
Did you run it through gpt?
Go to the deckofbrilliance.com and force yourself and your creative partner to think of a minimum of 3 mini-ideas from each prompt. Don’t use AI.
That is normal and happens all the time. Can be useful to try and understand what makes the other idea so good to apply in future briefs!
