Absolutely. But it’s their loss. New company is much better.
Yes, but feel better because i was under very bad management. I will definitely get something better
Yes. My old manager left and it was the worst thing that happened. He was invested in my success. New manager was in India and I was in the USA. Sorry but that won’t work for a variety of reasons especially time zone differences. Btw I am Indian. New manager after him was in UK and he tried to restart interesting projects for me but then layoffs came. Two most senior on team, axed.
New company is a dream, better pay (over $30k bump), better culture and my manager truly appreciates me. As a woman I was being underpaid compared to my male colleagues with similar roles, performance and workload which is illegal in my state. And I was underpaid in the market in general.
Best thing I ever did from my old job was to get out even if it was involuntary.
I worked with some horrible people one woman in particular that I had to work closely with. The next day I woke up feeling relief that I didn’t have to ever jump on a call with them ever again.
It was also a really poorly managed company. I was happy to go and probably should have been looking earlier but they kept telling me how important I was. 🙄
Does it matter? What is unjust? I got a new boss. He wanted to build a team of his old buddies. The system granted him that power. It's just the way things go, not something to cry about. I don't want to work for someone who sees me as an obstacle that is in the way of their agenda. I want to work with people who want everyone to succeed. Individual success => team success => company success. Buuut, he didn't see it that way. Oh well. Thank you, next.
Yes, they did layoffs right before issuing bonuses. For the record I did not get my bonus when I worked the entire 2023 year, my layoff was not bc of performance and they took back all my equity. What is even the point of working at a startup if you can’t take the equity you earned with you after leaving?
Hell yeah I do
