Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

My employer doesn’t even roll over vacation… The best I’ve seen is a policy where we had 30 days of pto to use over the span of 3 years. Technically that’s a rollover. Kind of?
But to answer your question this should be discussed during offer negotiations and it would be great to ask if this is negotiable at all.
It seems like different companies do different things. Are there laws in place to control how they set these policies?
It honestly wouldn't occur to me to start talking about sick pay during a job interview. I want to put across the idea that I'm capable and eager to work, and injecting an idea about sick pay seems like it would just undermine that. It could potentially get people thinking that I get sick a lot (which, thankfully, isn't the case). It just seems like an odd topic to bring up in an interview.
Ya but some people I know have like 200 hrs of sick pay stored in case they get badly ill. Its frustrating how a good employee that never gets sick, gets short changed when he actually gets sick.
Have you known anyone who has called in sick to "cash out" their sick days? I think the pay should be more like PTO. I feel that discussing it is only fair, as being ill is a natural part of being human.
I know people that call in sick all the time for this reason and it adds added stress to coworkers. Its really frustrating
