Hour long first round interview with a MM consultant friendly PE firm next week — should I expect a model? Or are they likely to fill that hour primarily with behavioral and random technical questions?

Also, if I blow it, is there any risk of burning the bridge with the HH?

Sharpen up your modeling, better to be over than under prepared. Could be your one chance with the HH

like

Yep and deff know how to paper LBO

like

For future rounds, definitely try and practice excel LBO models too.

Unless it’s not an investing role beinf able to model an LBO is table stakes

like

Yup - would overprepare as if you’ll be asked to do a full 3 statement from a CIM (with no other guidance) in 90m

like

I’m feeling good about the super cut and dry paper LBOs based on WSO, I’m hoping that’s generally sufficient

Be comfortable with the entire mechanics eg I give you a required IRR and you backsolve multiple, leverage etc.

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.
