Not just during winter but I try not to eat anything past 8pm.
I wouldn't think timing would make that big of a deal if you're eating roughly the same amount of calories. Is the weight gain significant? If so, maybe you're onto something, but if not, I wouldn't worry too much about eating late if you have to.
I don't think it cou;d be the reason you're putting on weight, esp if you have the same caloric intake. However, there is truth to the fact that our metabolic fire is slower once the sun goes down so you could try to maybe eat your dinner at 7 for a week, like you used to, adns ee for yourself if its causing any changes.
My trainer told me that it doesn't matter what hours you are eating during as long as you stop eating at the same time every day and start at the same time the next day. You might have to adjust when you eat breakfast every day but two hours later for dinner shouldn't make a difference.
