Do you like your MD? We had a change a few months ago and this new MD is terrible. It’s making my job that much harder and honestly depressing.

I like all but one of mine. I do my best to stay friendly and don't engage too much - but every once and a while when they cross the line I make my boundary known... Easier to do at my level though and since I've been there longer than them and have the support of the other MDs. I'd recommend building a relationship with one of your direct managers and if it gets go be too much, subtly point it out for your senior to help provide air support. That's what I did when I was an analyst/associate in the same situation

Thank you, I will definitely take your advice.

I hated mine. My MD was kind and compassionate but he couldn’t stand up to his managers, who I think most people can’t stand. I think it’s a matter of time before they are demoted - I watched this happen in another group over 2 years so I’m WAITING for it to happen

Yes, hoping you won’t have to wait for too much longer!

Why do you have to like anyone? It’s work, nobody is there to be friends, do that on your own time, what little that may be. This new generation always hung up on likes and retweets. Grow up.

Agree to disagree. Everyone is different. You are entitled to your own opinion as do I. And in my opinion, when I work 12 plus hours a day, I want to share that with people I like rather than people I hate.
