"I didn't actually like who I was becoming outside of work. Like I could play the game. I knew how to play the game, I knew how to run the meeting. But then I just said, wait a minute, is this who I want to be? And it wasn't." Something about this quote resonated with me very deeply, I've often wondered the same thing. I've accomplished so much that I should be proud of but I can't help but wonder about everything that I've sacrificed on the way there... Would 20 year old me be proud of who I am today? I'm not sure I'm confident in the answer.
Another problem w/bro culture is they can’t handle women the same tough style. As Peggy Noonan says there’s a narrower band of acceptable behavior for women. MG is lucky she had a different style and could forge her own path.
