Big pharma is fine. Biotech needs interest rates to come down

People still die, that still sucks - trying to solve that problem remains valuable. Pharma isn't going away.

The US is the money maker and with IRA looming, AI and bunch of pricing pressures coming, if there is a major hit in the US I don’t know if the current business models are sustainable in the long run. There has to be major consolidation, severe cost cutting, layoffs etc.

like

Not sure I entirely agree. If you look at some of the IRA drugs, there’s really nodirect competitor that’s better for some of them. They guise under the word “negotiation” but it’s not and they don’t know the impact it’ll have on pharma and innovation in general. It’ll have negative impact for sure.

Hello everyone. I am looking to transition into the medical writing field, but I don’t seem to have the right type of experience. I have technical writing experience, but I don’t have experience with clinical studies or clinical trials. Does anyone have any advice on how I can gain more experience in this field? I am pursuing the AMWA Essential Skills certificate and am working on a master degree, but any other information would be greatly appreciated!

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.
