It’s not healthy to compare yourself to other people. You have to set your goals and wait your turn. You don’t know what they did or where their blessings came from. I don’t feel like that I set my intentions and work towards them
Pro
You are right. This comparison gives you more insecurity and everyone has their own race. So having a clear path will lead to something better for me too.
Comparison is the thief of joy. I don't think it is healthy to compare yourself to others ever. Everyone has their own story and their own race to run.
Pro
That is correct. It is thief of joy. May be I have something that other people don't and there is not just one criteria to compare yourself.

You can never "keep up with the Joneses" If you are happy, isn't that the biggest measure of success?
And yet, we are a culture (even a species) that thrives on keeping score. And business is all about metrics. What did you do last year? What did the store on the other side of town do? How do you beat them?
I've been first. I've been last. And at the point, no one cares that I was the number one store in 2018 for a company I no longer even work for. Memories fade, awards go missing, and all that really matters, in the end, is am I happy and am I secure?
Pro
Beautifully said. There are different metrics of success and all that matters at the end is happiness and satisfaction with life.
I used to compare myself all the time. But then I lost everything a couple of years ago on some bad investments, and I realized that everything can be gone in a moment. Now I only compare where I am now to where I was last year, or five years ago.
Pro
You are absolutely right. You should be your biggest competitor and set your goals accordingly. I am glad you compare yourself with you and it keeps you motivated.
