Do you think our raises this year will actually keep up with inflation? Honestly, it hasn’t felt great the past few years. Inflation hit around 8% in 2022, then cooled a bit to about 4% in 2023 and 3% in 2024, but my raises have barely reached 2–3% each year. It starts feeling like we’re just working harder to stay in the same place (if not falling behind). How’s it been for you?

Same. It has been brutal. Everyone keeps telling me I should be grateful to at least have a job but the more my wage stays stagnant the more I disagree.

like

I get where you’re coming from. It’s frustrating to be told to feel grateful when, in reality, our pay just isn’t keeping up. It’s hard not to feel like we’re being left behind, year after year.

Exactly the same… definitely working more for less. I could get more by switching but that’s a risk in itself too

like

True, I’ve thought about switching too, but with how unpredictable the market’s been lately, taking that leap definitely feels risky.

Eh. Probably not, but at least it’s not nothing. I have friends at a few companies that “stalled” annual increases and never reimplemented them.

Yeah, that’s true. Even a small raise is better than nothing, especially when some companies have completely frozen them.

Agree

Nope! I have to ask for a salary increase or I don't get one :D

Be grateful if you get a raise at all! There will be a lot of companies that won’t give anything

Yeah, that’s the thing, just getting any raise at all is becoming rare :(
