I was concepting two days ago and learned something new about finding ideas. I looked at funny GIFs related about the brief. And I kid you not, I was able to write down 10 new ideas and to get in the flow. I'm not sure if it was a one-hit wonder but I'll definitely try it again.
Definitely! I think it helped me alot because I saw different ways the same word can be interpreted. Like the word "hungry": I saw stomach rumbling, food hallucinations, etc. Gave me new dots to connect with.
I can’t remember where I heard this or maybe it was from an article I read, but to get inspiration in advertising this person suggested not looking at other examples of advertising. To look anywhere but and I swear since I read that it’s been super helpful. I go for walks a lot. A lot of my ideas come walking around outside weather it’s in a backyard in the warmer months, walking around the city etc. I feel it eases my mind.
Yes, there’s always a method. Whatever method you prefer, if you want something good, you should 1) force yourself to dig for ideas in many different areas, 2) know how to recognize a good idea, and 3) don’t fall in love with a single idea too early.

I look at memes. You’d be surprised.
I like to barrage my brain with visual stimulation. Design / photography blogs usually. Then I blurt out or write down as many things as I can. My copywriter tells me which ideas are good if any.
