I went to top MBA young without a lot of experience. Went into consulting at a way lower salary point as a result. Now that I have experience salary is not aligned with fresh MBA rate.

I am proud to say that my firm did the right thing today. Instead of Associate salary cuts or layoffs, they suspended equity partner share payments and suspended hiring and spending. A plus.

Should someone with an MSBA still go for MBA, or is time better spent elsewhere (I.e self learning, starting a side hustle)? Long term goal is to have my own company, and plan B would be management at a large corporate. Currently in a big 4. Thanks!

With the partner threads going around, what do partners on here thinks makes someone a good candidate to make partner at their firm? I feel out of place in accounting. I’m very extroverted and love building relationships. I’m slightly above average for being technically savvy in tax, but not extraordinary. How difficult is it to be a direct admit partner to a smaller firm than a Big 4 firm?

I recently received an offer at a boutique consulting firm and am unsure of how to go about the negotiation process. I have 1YOE and was originally interviewing for an Associate role but they are bumping me to Staff instead. Offer is for 70k + EOY bonuses. I'm not bank on those though. Nothing is guaranteed and they could easily go away in this climate. I make 50k right now and the Glassdoor page at my employer reflects that. Glassdoor range for the new job is 69k-76k. New immigrant here. When people say “max out your 401k” is there a deadline for it? (Like now?) or is it something that you do every month? I haven’t set it up yet. Is too late for this year? TY!

I am working in a tech startup. We deal with contracts. My job spans a number of areas in the company. I work with Client Success Managers helping clients extract certain data from their contracts, our Data Science Team regarding product development, the Marketing team to help them understand what is currently happening in the contract field and sales. I am not performing the work of an in-house counsel. And since this type of position is fairly new, I wonder how to research salary?
