Does anyone else feel a lot of pressure around January being labeled the “best time” to job hunt? I keep hearing that budgets reset and hiring ramps up in January, which gives me hope, but it also makes it feel like I need to start the year at full speed. After how draining the past year has been, I really don’t want to burn out on month one of 2026. Curious how others are approaching job hunting in January?

Hi there, I am in process of interviewing with the Goldman Sachs India, for a VP Positions. Any idea about the annual salaries for such positions? It is a global position in Investment domain.

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.
