I recommend you leave.
You'll get a 25% pay bump (at least) and progress faster elsewhere. You can always boomerang back (not into USDC)
Actual advice: Find a project and make yourself invaluable. Learn everything and consolidate as much responsibility onto yourself that you can. Once you do that, you have the leverage to force promotions/salary increases/even moving to core if you want.
It’s either that or leave.
Same promotion process as other models. But I’m switching to traditional bc pay sucks in USDC. Talk to your coach.
D1. All projects are “core” projects. That response alone indicates you have an uphill climb in order to make the switch. Takes a whole lot more than just project and PPMD support.
How difficult is it to transfer to core? I like the firm and would like to stay but yep pay is not up to par. I’m an experience hire new to consulting and leading core folks that get paid more than me
Very difficult. When I attempted to do this I was told by my SM that I'm better off leaving than trying to move into Core. It rarely happens, requires Partner approval, and most of the time they won't approve that because it is a huge pay raise, benefits raise, and continued pay raises (Core folks get better increases too).
Just leave. I've already been through the fight you're going to have to fight and it's really not worth it.
USDC is honestly just a fancy way for Deloitte to underpay folks now that remote work is more common.
Thank you D2, guess I have to start planning my exit
lol none of this is True, if you are skilled and networked well transfer to core is easy, and if you are a top performing you never worry about Money lol
