Does anyone plan their projects out based on the current/expected cost of materials? If so, how far out do you delay starting with the expectation that costs will come down?

I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I’m a Senior Project Manager at an engineering consulting firm - I don’t have my PE as of yet and my compensation is $100k + bonus. Just a bit of background, at my firm a Senior PM is someone with 8+ years exp. I have 10 years experience and on track to making Principal in a couple of months. I seriously think I’m on the low end of the salary range as a Senior PM. What’s a typical Senior PM or Principal compensation in your firm?

Do any RA’s or PE’s on here sign and seal for their company? My firm is trying to bestow these responsibilities on us and I’m holding out for an increase in comp. I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

How soon is too soon to start looking and applying to jobs after accepting a position?

Context:

I recently accepted a position at the company and have been working as a temp for the past 3 months. I really enjoy the people I work with and the company seems to really support its employees, however it is in a field that doesnt exactly align with what I would like to be doing. And unfortunately the compensation package is also lacking.
