I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I don’t want to go back to school for architecture. Ultimately, I want to own my own company developing real estate.

I am given sap as my competency, but honestly I'm not finding it interesting. I was hoping to shift to data analytics(python, sql, etl, powerbi, advanced excel... Working with these techs).
I have knowledge in python and sql. I also have some development skills, reactjs and stuff(not relevant to data analytics).
Should I increase my skill set before starting to apply to other firms?

I have an offer accepted from Elevance 125k (Anthem) and w a good team and seems that WLB would be ok. Also, Amazon hiring manager wants to interview me for a job. Is just a hiring manager int. so obvi nothing guaranteed. Salary if offered will be more than 150k. My question is should I accept the interview and see where it goes? Is it just me or are there entirely too many people in Business Services, specifically TC’s, who are just folks from client service that don’t want to deal with hours and travel anymore but have no formal training in the Business Services function they transition to? It seems to me very few TC’s are professionals in HR with any background, training or certifications in HR.

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

Do any RA’s or PE’s on here sign and seal for their company? My firm is trying to bestow these responsibilities on us and I’m holding out for an increase in comp. This responsibility was not originally in my job description. Additionally I am the only one with my job title being required to do this. Everyone else that will be signing have a more senior role then me. Any feedback is appreciated.
