Wtf. Are you hourly or salary? If salary, no.
It may impact promo or bonus but your base should be based on a regular workweek (40 hours), unless you live in a communist state or something
The hours required during busy season is because that’s when the firm is… busy. The work doesn’t shift to a different time of year. You can’t even ask for vacation during January - March. And OP is having a baby which takes 9 months and then you get maternity leave so… idk when they could make that time up
Talk to your doctor and HR. And see if taking some short term disability with full pay is available in your state.
I know of a couple women at RSM and my previous B4 that reduced hours by the end of pregnancy but still had full pay.
When going on a reduced schedule, your pay is typically reduced too.
I know someone on an 80% schedule. Most of the year her hours are 32, but during busy season it is 44. It is very normal, because 55 is the minimum, not some recommendation.

Id look for industry/private jobs if I were in your situation.
GT1 It’s not great to leave your job when you’re pregnant because you won’t qualify for FMLA leave once you have the baby.
I would ask your HR what the policy is. In many states if you work 40 hours, they are not allowed to reduce your pay since it is still full time. This needs to be discussed though as if you just don’t do the hours, you’d be put up for nonperformance discussion.
Speak to your counselor/team. My team was flexible with me during my pregnancies and I took some sick time during the first trimester, worked from home more frequently during the 3rd, etc.
A lot (of course not everyone) of people feel better after 10-12weeks, so may be worth seeing if you can just take some sick time now and see how you’re doing after the first trimester before going down the road of a formal flex arrangement. If you go on a reduced hours flex, your pay during maternity leave I believe will remain on that reduced flex.

Hi, I have had some team members who went with reduced hour schedules. I believe the pay was prorated. I’m assuming if you work 40 hours your pay for that period would be prorated 40/55.
Would be reduced pay. The pay is based on 2300 hours per year so if you make your weeks 40 instead of 55 for say, 4 weeks, that’s 60 less hours of the total 2300 you’re working. Hence, you’ll get a salary for 2240 hours, not 2300.
Speak to someone you trust about this that can help. You will absolutely be accommodated.

If you formally take a reduced schedule, then yes, your pay is reduced proportionately. If you just need some sick time for a few hours/week in your first trimester, then I'd hope your manager can help with that. First trimester in busy season sucks. I get it. I've done it twice.
talk to HR. see if there is a leave management team. if you have to work a reduced schedule you may be able to qualify for short-term disability to make up the difference in pay (and would need medical documentation for short-term disability insurer to approve it).
