Do you want to be doing this $hit at 50? Haha
Lots of 50+ manager and above.
They’re all dead by 50

I'm leaving at 60 in the US. I only know one other person my age and they have been pretty low key the past 3 years. I was pounding hard until a couple months ago and just hit the wall. Hiring and promoting people to take my roles, I'll be gone within 2 months.

I loved the responsibilities in industry. You had authority and responsibility. In consulting the breadth of projects is interesting, but there is too much fake pressure. Some really smart people in consulting that draw me in. But some immaturity and ignorance of what it really takes to get things done from consultants pushed me away.
I'm going to go back to teaching, academia and The CME.
Probably a combo of high stress and high pay allows people the freedom to retire in 50s / 60s or transition to more fulfilling, less demanding work

I work/worked with people in this demographic at slalom OP...
There are plenty of Directors, Sr Directors, and MDs at Slalom over 50.
That said I'd like to retire between 50 to 55.
I worked with plenty in that age group in consulting and have celebrated lots of retirements along the way. Although I don't work with as many in this age group at Slalom as I did in other bigger firms, but I think that is because Slalom hasn't been around for as long and I don't believe the culture attracts older people to change consulting firms
