Don't convert unless you have multiples of 60000 Bonvoy points
You also get the 30% bonus on the bonus 5k

OP delivers
Marriott is the only hotel chain with a decent conversion rate when transferring to airline miles. Under normal circumstances, you lose a little value by transferring. With that bonus, you'll come out ahead - just transferred a bunch myself
Only reason to convert would be if you were short on airline miles for a dream trip
I always convert, especially during the travel packages days (now devalued).
I prefer to travel in business and pay for an ABnB rather fly in Economy and stay in a nice hotel, assuming I am tight on points.
Just transferred 240000 marriott to united
At OP I'm looking to get the 30 percent bonus plus when you transfer they give you extra 5000 miles for every 60000
So I'm looking to get 80000 plus 20000 plus 24000 with this transfer if I understood all the bonuses correctly.
The bonus is only up to 25000 miles, so the 30% benefit only applies to the first ~83k miles you transfer. Am I understanding this correctly ?
I took it as 30 percent of incoming points hence the 240000 transfer to get 80000 then 30 percent of that 24000 in my above post
What's the promo?
Where's the promo. I have about 300000 to convert lol
OP: where is the promotion going ? Any link
I think I’m leaning toward transferring to United points. It’s only 35,000 points and I’ll net the 30% bonus.
My rationale is that I’ll quickly build back Marriott points with weekly travel whereas I’m moving away from United for business travel but I still use it once a year for international flights.
