Does it hurt your career as a CPA if you switched from public reporting company to a private one? After big 4, I stayed in a public company for 4 yrs and now thinking about switching to a private company with better hours

I made the switch last year and I've been so happy. I could never go back now that I see how nice it is to have regular hours and low stress. I also make more money lol

This question is a bit vague. Do you mean does it make your resume look bad for the future? I’d say it depends on your future goals. Also it depends on what type of private company, are they getting ready for an IPO, or are they just teeny tiny and always gonna stay that way? The experience and areas you go work in at this private company will be what you’re setting yourself up for in your next job. So that’s up to how you navigate this. But you can still make good money and be just fine.

I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful. I can't spend 14 hours each day feeling like this:(

I've been seeing a lot of ADCOLOR posts on linkedin, and some of the people who are liking and reposting it are some of the same people who were blatantly racist and rude to me when I worked with them. I wish there was something I could say/do about it, but it's literally making my blood boil seeing them like posts about "uplifting" and "supporting" BIPOC, only because I know that once they get off their screens and they're the meanest people

Looking for some advice! I recently reached out to PwC private division because where I work now is boring and not flexible. I miss feel like an accounting professional. I previously worked at a medium sized public accounting firm but looking to add that big name recognition. How is the work life balance now working from home at PwC in the private division? Any insight on what I may be getting myself into. I want more family time and time to travel with my family.
