Wrapping my head around the equity piece of an offer. Is the equity you are granted in dollars converted to shares right away? So if the stock goes up or down, the totally dollar amount in equity granted when you sign might not be what you actually get over the first four years?

My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed? But even so, they’ll be taxed at a lower qualified dividend rate since I’m automatically reinvesting those dividends.

I should start a 529 account for my child but I am originally from France which also makes her a French citizen and she could easily go to college in France for not much money. The price right now is $26. I would get in and gradually increase by a multiple of 9 and hold until at least Dec 2021

I can’t stop feeling so behind all the time.
