Annual raises for everyone are fine. But if I outperform expectations and others in my department, I want to know I can get an additional raise when I earn one.
Annual merit increases across the board here. Percentage varies a bit by company performance, nothing substantial either way. 3% last year, 3.5% this year.
They have become less predictable. It used to be annual and merit-based, now we keep being told that there may not be the budget until around March or April, at which point we get a very modest raise, around 2 or 3%. I don't know the point of playing so coy about it.
Ours annual raises or market based, so if your salary is above market, no raise.

We are performance-based. We’ve budgeted 1.5% for raises this year.
Pro
Annual raise but it’s rarely anything more than 3%
