Considering getting Botox or filler (?) I literally know nothing about this except the lack of sleep is making me age like crazy. Any one open to sharing their experience? Tbh wypipo talk about this very openly but I’m looking for a melanated opinion/experience.

Nothing wrong with it. It’s a myth that non-white folks don’t age; we do. My only recommendation would be to make sure you go to a dermatologist and not one of these janky med spas.

likefunny

Black, Asian and Latino people seem to generally age better than their white counterparts, so I don’t really know any POC under 45-50 who does anything other than a regular skincare routine.

like

Asian here. We definitely do it. A friend has been getting Botox since 25 to keep lines from forming in the first place and so it looks natural. (context - she lives in Korea where it's super common just no one talks about it). Honestly, considering it myself for the same reason. I'm currently 30 and seeing some small lines form.

There is a dermatologist of color who uses Botox injections in her scalp to prevent sweating so her blowouts last longer 🤫🤫🤫

like

Latina here - I have a baby face but I started getting Botox in my forehead and between my eyebrows for preventative reasons, it wasn’t until she showed me the before and after photos that I realized how much of a difference it made, with even tiny little lines that are now gone. I love it and it’s such a subtle but real confidence boost.

like

I'm mid-thirties Latinx (white). I get Botox and am happy with it. I don't need it need it... I didn't look my age before I started. But going early has allowed me to go "light" so it looks natural and will keep me from developing too many dynamic lines too early. I go to a place that is reputable but prices a flat fee for three areas and I only do two, preferring to keep some expression around my eyes and lips. People will judge whatever you do. But I've had frown lines while I sleep my entire life and it has bothered me SO much. So it's a relatively non-invasive and easy thing to give me a huge confidence boost. Even if I'm the only one who has noticed!

like

There's an FDA approved amount for each area of the forehead, and a range within that. I tend towards the lower end!

like

Brown girl here! I’m 28 and started getting botox for my 11s. other than that, I tried filler but didn’t really like it. Probably will go back for botox though!

like

Half Black and half white here and I’ve been doing Botox since I was about 25 (3 yrs now). I get it in my forehead and in between my brows about 2-3 times per year. I DON’T do it for the immediate freezing effect— I actually like to have my expressions— (that later wears off after a couple weeks), but more so for the preventative results (face still moves but less severely, leading to less deep lines). I think it has made me look younger than I did at even 21, however I also think I had a lot of deep lines developing in my forehead at a young age bc (and I quote a hair stylist I once had) I “had a loose scalp.” ??? lol anyway I have YT and POC friends whose foreheads look as “tight” as mine who have never done Botox, so who knows. I think the key is to not go overboard, keep it minimal until you find your sweet spot, and find a reputable injector (note: NOT the practice, as injectors vary widely even within a practice and may inject at various locations) who you like working with.

ALSO I try to be VERY cognizant of the fact that appearing “younger” or “older” are extremely subjective concepts that change meaning from era to era. The poreless, line-less look might be broadly aspirational right now, but who knows what will be in 20, 30 years. If *I* personally am comfortable with that understanding, then I do what I want without regret!

I'm black and also know nothing about botox, but I'm wondering what differences you're anticipating

30 year old black female here. I had two horizontal forehead lines that I wanted to treat with Botox for years, finally Botox in my forehead and cheek filler this year and I don’t know why I waited so long. My only recommendation is to go to a doctor vs a med spa. I go to a plastic surgeon and I love him.

I also want to add that the plastic surgeon I go to is a white male who was super understanding about what I wanted to fix and very conservative with treatment.

Brown latina here—I started getting Botox about 2 years ago and wonder why I didn’t start sooner. I get it done on my forehead and a little bit on the outside of my eyes to prevent crows feet. I love it!!
I’ve also tried fillers on my lips, but decided it’s just not for me.

I got Botox and loved it! Highly recommend

Hello PwC AC Friends,

I have been on bench since I joined the firm 3 months ago. Now I have got project but still on bench. I have got mail regarding not raising snapshots because I was on bench so i didn't do anything except trainings and some learning. I don't have hours to raise snapshot for.

What shall I do in this case? I am very much worried that if i don't have any project hours to show, will they fire me or what actions are supposed to be taken ? Thanks.
