Wow, do people at your organization often survive their PIPs? Compensation and raises for someone who was once on a pip usually isn’t an issue here since our managers use pips as a way to fire people.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I think that’s where the nuance is. In some companies, PIPs are meant for genuine performance improvement, while in others they function more as a path to exit. That inconsistency is what creates confusion around whether compensation is ever indirectly affected. In your experience, have you seen employees successfully complete a PIP but still face delayed raises or bonus impacts afterward?
