You need to show a boarding pass to an international destination. So:
1) You may be able to use duty free at JFK if leaving from international terminal. I tried it several time for SFO-NY-Paris trips and it was 50/50 whether they allowed it. Def would allow at ATL for you.
2) No.

Thanks!
I'll give it a shot next time through. ATL has pretty crappy duty free, so can't do much there.
Does duty free shopping actually save you any money, assuming you buy in a DF shop in the USA, and live in the USA?
My knowledge of prices of some liquors and assorted chocolate candy indicate that pricing is the same as if not a little higher than the price I could find at Target.

Don't ask me why my domestic trips sometimes leave from the international terminal, think it's because there's construction on the airlines primary terminal right now.
In short the answer is likely no. You are typically handed your duty free purchase at terminals that have both domestic and international flights at the gate.
ive been to over 60 countries amd had never made a purchase at an airport other than food..arent things over priced to begin with that ur really not saving on that duty free?

Liquor FROM international destinations is typically substantially cheaper than what you would get domestically. But I’ve never seen a good deal on liquor from the US headed abroad.
