Any good recos on accountants in NYC? I’d really like one who is responsive to emails/calls, explains things clearly, and helps with freelance things like LLC, quarterly taxes, etc.

True. Well his name is Max Kleynburd and he's been pretty great so far. Thorough explanations, replies to calls and emails, very professional. Helped me set up an S-Corp (not an LLC, which he explained why), sends me quarterly tax vouchers, set up my 401k/payroll situation. Great guy and I have a couple other creative friends that use him.

If he’s still alive, Ron McDonald. Yes, that’s correct; his name is Ronald McDonald and he works almost exclusively with freelancers and creative types. Very good with “just make this go away” and is a monster when it comes to deductions. He’ll deduct your toilet paper and get away with it. The man is just this side of a criminal and I NEVER had any trouble with any of my returns when working with him. He’s a genius. He’s one of the things I miss most about New York. I haven’t found anyone like him in Cali.

Yep. He's a bit pricey but I got one that does all that. Hmmm how do we trade info on here?

SC1, just post the CPA's name here and OP can Google them + contact them on their own? If the one you use accepts new clients, not sure what the issue is. It doesn't reveal who you are specifically.

I’ll definitely be looking up Ronald McDonald this weekend

I’m curious. If you were engaged to your S.O. who made >500k+ annually and gave you the option to quit your job to pursue your passions and be a homemaker, would you? How young is too young to be financially dependent on a partner?

HELP. I am completing my Solicitor Qualifying Exam (UK) next week and need 2 years qualifying work experience. I was just offered an in-house training contract at a small law firm. The pay is quite bad but the partner I would be working under would be an amazing mentor. I haven’t applied for many other training contracts so now I feel like I’m out of options. Can somebody please advise me whether a small firm like this is the right career move? Ultimately, I just want to be a great solicitor.

What were SCs doing yesterday afternoon?

I applied for an open role at a company I’d love to work with, but the role is one I’m overqualified for. The recruiter and leader have both called out that fact. Now a role I’m more suited for was just posted, but I’m quite far along in the process for the existing more junior role. Do I try to pivot to consideration for the more senior position, or is it too late? How?

After reading so many posts it seems like 90% people in this bowl are searching for partners somewhere. We are all educated enough and work in similar profession so I am thinking why not create our proposals(pic not necessary initially) and start sharing over with each other? If you like the proposal you can then talk and take it forward. Since families are not be involved here I think there'd be no shyness/awkwardness in stating your requirements. Let me know what you all think. No Timepassers!

Hi Freelancers. I am currently revamping and updating my online portfolio. The thing I'm struggling with the most is creating a write up for my artwork. Some of it was done a while ago.
