Your manager will be fine. And if you're close to a meltdown, you need to prioritize yourself
Set a hard roll-off date, start discussing your roll-off plan - getting someone new onboarded, doing knowledge transfer, etc. Start documenting what you do, so your KT is easier
In a similar position. Work is boring as hell but firm has been losing a lot of ppl. How much longer till your project is over? I'm planning on staying for another couple more months to get to senior consultant and then going to leave. Can't stick around forever just for the sake of someone else
Do you think your company or manager will think about you for a minute if they are down sizing? Never take it personally. Get a better offer and leave
You are never as irreplaceable as you think and that is not meant to be demeaning. Leaving will create a growth opportunity for you and the manager and 99% chance that everything will be fine. I have left more than 2 jobs where I thought everything would fall apart if I left (with good reason) and the team / org will adjust in some fashion.
Roll now. Performance year is up. If they implode, it will not impact you next year. Run.
Worth noting that I am only an analyst and I've been feeling more and more unappreciated by my manager even though we have grown decently close. I know it's the stress that's getting to my manager but still.
Yea.
How long have you been there
Leave. Your managers needs to deal with their problems without you.
Involve your manager in above actions
You're not at PGE, are you?

You need to tell her you're unhappy. Maybe there are tweaks that can be made to your role that make big improvements to your experience. If you keep your mouth shut, you'll go nowhere.

I'm not close to a meltdown, just frustrated. Manager will melt though. I have a couple more months but I would burn serious bridges if I leave
A while...
Haha no not PGE. This is all good advice but I'm too afraid to break my manager, I really do like her and I'm learning lots ... Just not what I want to learn
