Employer over contributed to an HSA account for the last two years. The actual hsa contributions per the W2's match the limit but the amount in the account does not. Since the income was correctly reported if I remove the amount from my HSA account am I fine or will I still need to amend my prior year returns for the 6% fee on over contributions?

If it was reported correctly why would you amend anything? I get being honest but I wouldn’t just look for trouble by amending and paying the penalty. Just let it ride and correct this period

Should clarify, it was over withheld. So instead of going to my checking. Would be nice to get my post tax money (fairlt large amount) out but if it's not the end of the world.

Dumb questions but genuinely curious:

1) Let’s say you’re a recent undergrad candidate with no internships on your resume. What’s the deciding factor that you’re qualified for Advisory vs Tax vs Audit? Is it school, gpa, etc.?

2) Why can’t you switch from Tax to another SL without having to pull strings? I understand that there’s a difference in tax vs book experience but why does the Accounting field gatekeep other SLs? It’s not like we’re incapable of learning other areas.
