Employer perk is they will pay for $5k of certifications/classes in a fiscal year. I'm considering spending it on something in cyber or privacy. Maybe the CIPP/US and/or the CIPP EU. I think these subject matters actually would interact with my practice a bit, so my question are those the certs to get in this space?

I'm not asking whether to take or not, just asking, assuming I want a cert in this area, what's the one to do. It's a use or lose perk.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? What’s it like being a senior in-house corporate attorney in biotech or tech? Is the work interesting or is it mainly just reviewing contracts and admin/CYA work for biz folks?

Starting a new position in a few weeks and have an opportunity to speak with my future boss before starting. When my job is to handle all the corporations issues does it ever get hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel? Like that this business will survive? It will get its next round of funding? This litigation won’t wipe us out… something’s I just become very pessimistic about the future of the company.
