Ever notice how people outside accounting think CPA means you either do taxes or QuickBooks for your uncle? I mention I’m a CPA and people start asking about W-2s or if I can do their cousin’s return. Meanwhile, I’ve spent years auditing billion-dollar companies, analyzing complex transactions, and managing teams. How do you explain your background in a way that actually opens doors?

Something along the lines of “oh I don’t work on personal taxes, I work in a role where publicly traded companies pay us to dig through their financial statements line by line and sign off that they are presenting correct information to the open market”

gotta figure out how much the person actually knows and how to say it. If they don’t know what a financial statement auditor is though, what doors can they open for you?

like

Say you’re an auditor. If you care about opening doors, the person must know what an auditor is. Usually they would then say, oh what or who do you audit?

So you’re saying you can’t help me with my tax return? I thought you said you’re a CPA?

Tell them you are a guardian of the capital markets.

In one interview today with Kundyl. Their expectation is to be available oncall 24*7... With work from office.

They literally got offended and stared at me for asking about WLB...

Seems companies are not learning, even after the great resignations.. the big names... Like TCS, ibm.. are not doing any changes to their work culture and ethics to improve WLB.

Hi Fishes.
It's been a month of joining Brillio. Can someone help me with the Project Allocation Process followed here.

What is the industry average and highest Salary a Manager Management Consultant can earn today, with an MBA degree and 6 years of work experience?

Honestly, I am happy with the current pay but still when I hear the unrealistic figures from my friends and friends of friends it feels as if I am settling for less in life.

Any suggestions on how to get Salary correction internally within the same organisation? Thanks!

Hi all, I’m currently a solution architect with 1yoe and two bachelors degrees. I also hold two cloud certifications and make 60k a year. This seems very low considering what I’ve seen for average SA salaries for those who hold the AWS SAA certification. Was hoping for some insight on this and if I should seek more compensation. Thanks!

I've decided to leave public for an Accounting Manager position in private. What are the different types of companies to consider and the pros/cons? What are the best ways to get the position? I'm leaning toward GL accounting at a publicly-traded company. My background is 3.5 years audit and 2.5 years technical accounting advisory.
