2-3 times should be more than enough.
Also, I don’t think you should shoot for the moon. Setting up your minimum expectations should be enough for a negotiation process (assuming this is aligned with industry standards). If pay is way inferior than expected it’s probably not going to get to where you want it and may be a case of misjudging the position.

Thanks. I think it’s a combination of both. Have a minimum expectation you are absolutely not willing to go under, but also shooting for slightly higher. My thought is 1) if you start at minimum and they give you that human nature will only leave you feeling I could of gotten more. And 2) when shooting higher you could possibly win, but more than likely they’ll meet you half way landing at the minimum. Starting at minimum and meeting you half way could be lower, if that makes sense.
Ugh what role was it for? I’m interviewing there too and this makes me less motivated
