Feeling really low after 2 rejections so far of the 4 different companies I am pursuing for my next job. What have been your experiences job hunting? Did you get the first place you went for or did it take some effort? Grateful to hear your experiences and find a bit of hope.....

It took me over 30 applications, ~10 different rounds of interviews that ended in a no (or being ghosted). And that’s on the low end from what I’m hearing from friends/seeing in this bowl. Don’t be discouraged - it’s difficult to find a great opportunity in normal times and these are not normal times. You’ve got this!

It took me over a year to get my next job, double digit interviews with rejections, I don't even know how many didn't get an interview. It was a grind for sure, but so proud of myself now!

From March to July I submitted 300ish applications. I interviewed A LOT and ended up receiving 4 offers but that ratio is very low, keep trucking my friend. The market is currently saturated, recruiters/hiring managers have their pick of the litter so it will be an uphill battle but you’ll eventually land where you were always supposed to be.

Normal. You’re competing against dozens of other interviewees that likely are similarly qualified for 1 position. Bound to come in 2nd place a few times but don’t give up!

Thanks so much everyone. Feeling fueled to pick myself up and keep applying. Grateful I have a job in the meantime. As much as I hate it, it's better than nothing right now. Thank you all 🙂🙏🏼

Every no gets you closer to yes. I believe in you!!

Keep trying. 7-8 rejects out of a dosen opportunities so far in different stages. Could not think about this rejection rate in a normal market. Normal in this market. It will and should get better in 2021.

Have an offer to move to a Fortune 500 company as a finance manager and an offer to move to a small PE owned company ($200m in revenue) as a business strategy manager. Same pay. Hello 🐠 need your advice / insights on the below. Which option would you choose and why?
1. Accept PwC US offer 155k base, but GC process will start 1 year from now (3.5 years remaining on H1B)
2. Stay in current US company (120k base) which has approved a Canada transfer on Intra Company Transfer visa and wants to bring me back 1.5-2 years from now, potentially on L1A which speeds up GC process.

Interviewed yesterday with D for a consulting role with GPS 2ish YOE and multiple internships with big orgs. Everything went great except the qualitative part of the case which was awkward because I was emailed a sheet that had partial info about the case prior to the start, but I was supposed to act as if I didn’t? Quantitatively went very well.
One interviewer had to reschedule due to technical difficulties. Idk if did well enough for the offer but the wait is🤢

Any tips on this last interv?
