Weighing possible change to a different firm and wondering what thoughts are between RightPoint and Slalom. Specifically the culture, work-life balance and leadership.
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance

Are you or have you been the sole HR person at the company? What are the pros & cons? I haven’t been, but a recruiter reached out with an opportunity to be one. They currently use the parent company’s HR but are buying themselves out to be a stand alone firm. TIA!
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Just signed a new employment contract! Any tips for coming up with a good 90 day gameplan? There's nothing like new sales guy energy. The less you know the easier it is I've always found. Somehow the new guy always landed great number his first week or few weeks. Any tips, ideas, strategies to make the most of this 'new guy' energy? Cheers folks
Workday HELP! I need an amazing consultant or contact who can help us fix our workday woes. I’m not in charge of workday but I’m determined to fix it. We have massive issues with the complexity and ever changing security/permissions/workflows implemented by our system analysts. Every couple of months it changes and we all have to relearn simple tasks again. The analysts try to blame the users but I know it’s more than that.
To those who have several years of experience ion TA: Do you think staying in the campus recruiting space limits you? Should one try to get exposure to other HR areas for the long run?
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment? I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
If you are feeling sick or something during the day and WFH, do you feel comfortable napping it off and then getting back to work and working late if needed? I have friends that say this is totally normal and okay but I feel weird about it and can never actually rest to feel better if I do lay down
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
Just joined a small consulting firm, like the work and the people so far. They hired me at a lower level and salary for lack of BD experience, with the expectation that I perform and earn a promotion in 3-6 months. I have another better offer with a larger product based company that’s setting up its consulting business as one of the early hires. Is there a nice way I can leverage offer 2 with company 1? I’ll feel terrible about leaving tbh. This would also be my 1st job in the country.
Has anyone worked on the cadreon team? Would love to know more about culture and leadership.
For all the Indian men (who grew up in India, now working on visa or post student options in US) and trying to marry an Indian American citizen to expedite your GC/citizenship path, I have a recommendation for you. Be honest about your status and forthcoming. Don’t play the ladies for your ulterior motives. What’s meant to be will be, however if you approach dating/marriage for status or hide your actual situation, surely it will not end well. Sincerity and honesty are very important values!
I was invited to interview by a recruiter at G for a BizOps strategy role based in California. I currently live in the Denver area, SO is in grad school. Is Google flexible with work location? Even for the first year or so?
Former MBB here. Looking to get back into MBB but also considering Alix as I can likely start at Director (was former EM/PL level at MBB). Ops background. Crazy to consider AP?? I don’t mind getting my hands dirty in excel and pptx but def a different working model.
Adweek reporting on the impact of COVID-19 on the industry and the massive downturn and layoffs, yet still paywalls its news. Frustrating to say the least as we try to stay informed.
What is the difference between delivery manager vs technical program/project manager vs engineering manager vs project/program manager ? How do you think career progression differs for these roles?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
How many billable hours did you record in March? I had to get an early start on quarantine because a co-worker tested positive for COVID-19. So, I’ll start, 155.
Accepted a PM role at FAANG yesterday! Just wanted to send out good vibes to anyone interviewing or thinking of leaving 🤙🏼
When do new roles in NY start opening up for the new year? Feel like I'm still seeing the same positions on Linkedin that I saw last year.

Will there be any protests in ATL?
Has anyone heard of regional or mid size firms hiring seniors(from big4 or regional) as managers ? (Given they have 4 to 6 years) would love to hear perspective for both audit and tax.
