Maybe think about the experience you want to have on your honeymoon first, then back into the hotel...
Looking for place with nearby outdoor adventure but do fancy the suites that is over the water (e.g Maldives)
St Regis Maldives
You’ll want to book soon before the Peak/Off-peak rates become active. And make sure it takes the points out at booking or they won’t honor that rate per the new terms.
Mauritius
Autograph Punta Islata in Costa Rica is nice.
W Maldives > St Regis Maldives
I noticed they only allow us to book up to end of June 2020, not further. Any ideas why? Has something to do with incoming points update on 9/15?
Bora Bora
Maldives for sure. St R or W, are great. But book like 6 months in advance + for you to find redemption.
French Polynesia
It doesn't matter. I stayed at the Conrad Bora Bora and Hilton Moorea but I'm sure the Meridian and St. Regis are just as nice if not better. All of the ones with overwater bungalows look very nice.
Bora Bora is phenomenal (and Moorea too) and you're not confined to your resort like in the Maldives because you can boat around to the main island and/or other resorts. Also much easier to get to than Maldives. Nothing against Maldives, I want to go there as well but it's much harder to get to from US.
Looked at St. R Bora Bora, Honestly we tried but there was better value in paying cash vs points (namely more meals inclusive). Ultimately switched to Europe due to Zika risk on tropical places other than Bora Bora
