Every year they get this title and every year they are pretty cynical about it. Finland is a depressing country half of the year. It's dark, cold, many people suffer from it. They do have a great social system, education system, and infrastructures in general. But it's not that fun (except during the short summer where everybody rediscovers life again)
Source: have lived there and my partner is Finnish. We quickly moved to France though!
I think most companies take the month of July and august off, so they can enjoy the days where the sun doesn’t set until midnight 🙌🏻 so people go on multi week sailing trips, etc
…. But then in winter you get barely any daylight which can brutal.
mmmm I know Finnish people at work and have been to Finland 🤔, they don't seem to be supper happy or cheerful at all, but I guess the high quality of life, well functioning social system, and lack of worries count toward the happiness score. If I think of a happy & joyful life I imagine it in a warm, social, and developed culture/country like Italy, Spain, France... :)
Afraid to say Italy is not really a developed country…
