Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

This is a scary day for first amendment rights.
Media landscape is stretched and strained beyond all.
Flood and overwhelm seems to be the tactic
If it's true that the head of the FCC was threatening affiliates as a way to pressure a network, it's a blatant government encroachment on free speech. And, sad to say, a lot of public may not care. It's a bizarre set of circumstances, especially you consider how utterly petty the whole situation is. It's one of those things where I miss writers like Anthony Lewis or Nat Hentoff or Jimmy Breslin, who could educate the public about issues like this.
Do you think today's public is willing to be educated though?
I think his condemnation of those mourning this
man’s death and accusing them of scoring points. Not to mention falsely stating the assassin was far right comes with consequences. I did not agree with Kirk’s politics, but being snide in the face of his death has consequences and that can means losing your job.
I feel the exact same way, SDM1. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Trump said today no broadcast comedy show should make fun of him and expect to keep an FCC license. He said Kimmel should be cancelled back in July. This has nothing to do with Kirk.
Nothing to do with Kirk and all to do with one man's tiny ego
I feel just fine. There’s a responsibility that comes with free speech and agency to share information that’s as close to objectively true as possible without an intent to assassinate characters or malign people.
I’m literally still laughing that you are sharing context when you have no grasp on the context. And like I said above, its fine for viewers to object and boycott. But the government shouldn’t be issuing threats of censorship.
Candidly as a moderate I’m having general media and American fatigue. We have problems for sure that need to be reported on, but god it’s annoying to constantly feel like I have to take “news” with a grain of salt because of each organization’s political bias. News doesn’t feel like news anymore, it’s all “entertainment” and writing or producing the most rage bait topics or stories. Thinking about the average American going by what either Fox News or CNN is telling them hurts my soul and really can make a person feel pessimistic.
Do we really think that pressure from the administration would shut down a late night show? Coupe that with this caveat - do you think any of this would even be happening with Colbert and Kimmel if they had successful ratings and advertisers knock. Down their door? Absolutely not., there wouldn’t be a discussion on whether or not to pull/cancel these shows. The fact is the late night talk show format has fallen off a cliff with ratings and their brand of humor of current hosts has fallen out of favor. When you focus your humor too far right or left, when the pendulum swings back the other way (which is invariably does) you’re left on an island of rapidly shrinking eyes, ears and wallets.
