First time landlord and using property management. The tenant moved in last week and I haven't heard anything - should I call him (property manager) to double check everything is okay, if they have any questions I can help with or anything? Or is this normal and I shouldn't expect to hear anything unless something goes wonky? Or should I expect him to have given me an update at check in? Trying to make sure I'm not micromanaging, but also understand where/when I should check in...

It’s fine unless they call you back. That’s what a good PM is for. Like you, I was used to micromanaging at first lol. There’s absolutely no harm in emailing or contacting to make sure all is good.

You need to discuss with the property management how often they will be reaching out. Monthly would be a minimum, that way you receive a report on rental pmt, any issues, etc.

Definitely not monthly.

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? I don’t trust them….. (U.K. Victorian terrace, damp is in the kitchen extension built circa. 15 y/o)

Looked at a house (new build) and MIL said the vinyl windows imply the whole house is probably made with cheap, shoddy materials. She thinks everything has to be wood Marvin windows or bust. Is she right? From my research vinyl has its pros too... as long as we aren’t paying like they are wood marvins. Any reactions?

Would you consider pulling money through cash out refi and using it? I get nervous for stocks being so high. I have a few properties in pipeline already. How would you suggest using it (if at all).

What rates are people getting for condos? I’m thinking about selling my condo (I had 3.25%) but my realtor said that the rates are so high now that if I were to buy a similarly priced place, the monthly payment would be like $800 more. I’m bad at math, so I wanted to ask here to confirm this is accurate. Mortgage is around $700k
