For FY2023-24 i have opted for the New tax regime. And as tax I was getting deducted around 4k per month. And am not having any home loan and investments. And am paying 28k for LIC and around 24k for star health insurance per year. Now the tax deducted was 46k approx. But now I'm planning to file itr with the old tax regime. Here how can I get returns for my tax. Since I am planning to fake the HRA. Is there any way to fake my HRA? And is there any other way to get my returns max. Pls guide me😢

Partner quit their job, and according to job contract, have to pay back "training costs" since they left before an agreed-upon amount of time. When it comes to taxes, how should I treat this amount? How to pay 0 tax on 20LPA package?

I joined @mindtree in Jan 2022. Suddenly there is a 10k deduction in salary in the month of April. The salary slip say 10k deduction as INCOME TAX. Mindtree says "You come under 20% slab according to the income tax calculations. When all the tax slabs are applied you will have to pay yearly tax around Rs. X amount. So that amount will be deducted in monthly basis." Why sudden income tax deduction? Why was that not deducted in the month of Jan Feb March ? How can i recover that 10k every month?

I live with my mom (Property owner) in delhi and pay 16.5k pm as house rent for HRA deduction.

Now, she need some lumsum amount of 5 lakhs and I would like to pay this but also show this as house rent while filing ITR.

2 MAIN QUESTIONS -

1. Can I pay 5 lakh and show as house rent in HRA while filing ITR?
2. Total yearly rent is 16.5 × 12 = 198k. Can I show remaining amount i.e. 302k as Rent for next year?

But when I tried selecting ITR-1 for filing income tax, it shows a message in red mentioning I should select either ITR-2 or 3 since I have income from more than 1 house property. Should I go ahead and file with ITR-1 or do I need to get correction somewhere before filing the return?
