Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

Been 3 months since I joined Luxoft and I am assigned to a backward DXC project. The lead is oppressive and bossy. There is no work-life balance and 9:30 hours of work is not enough for them. My probation period is going to end soon. Should I inform my Luxoft manager and tell him to change my project right now ? Or shall I wait for him to end my probation period ?

Graduated 2019, admitted late 2019, been practicing almost three years. First two in LT lit, then almost a year in transactional. Making $70k now working from 9:30-7:00.. almost non- stop. No time for lunch type of work dynamic. Daily tasks: Attend 1-2 closings and 1-2 signing contract with client . I don’t mind the work, just $70k is hard to sustained a living, any ideas on how I can transition to a better paying transactional practice area? 😐

Over the last few months my job work load has increased to helping more teams and I have been brought on to be a major voice on a product transition (I am one of three non managers helping make the decision and have more responsibility on the project then half the managers. The company is global (30+ teams)) and I can see that it will increase over the next months. The company I work for is known for not promoting internally easy. I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. Finding a house-share with enough working space for wfh seems expensive since I first moved to London 4 years ago - £900+ pcm and still competing for the room! Is it worth just trying to rent solo a little further out for ~£1,300pcm? Big issue is I’m only earning ~£45k with 4yoe.
