You won't find jobs in stdcell characterization field except for few companies and switching jobs would be very difficult, there are only 2-3 companies working on stdcell characterization. Better stick to DV.

You might be thinking about short time compensation during early career but what about rest of your working experience? It all depends on your choice though which one you like!

Compensation will be better in DV.. Work satisfaction really depends on what you like..
If you like DV, its tough you will like stdcell design and characterization..

Looking for advice, is it a bad idea to take a chance on an early stage startup (20 FTEs) in our current economy or go for it? I'm currently interviewing for a head of product role, and really torn about the timing.

Added context, they raised about $4M in seed funding and the founders say they're overcommitted for their series A which is currently being closed. I've been in product for 7 years, definitely feel equipped to do the job, but would like to stay at least 1.5-2 years if I do this.
