That is absolutely playing with fire.
It’s one thing to do projects on your own, but this can get you into serious trouble
100% do it. Just use a different computer.
I did this. Worked full times while freelancing for not 1, but 2 other agencies. Things were super slow at my full time job though, which really helped. Everything was also 100% remote, which helped even more. Don’t say anything to anyone about it.
I even used my work laptop, but maybe you wanna be more cautious and use a personal computer. Also, it helped that all 3 agencies I did this with were with different holding companies
You need to check your employment contract and employee handbook - there will likely be language there outlining what you’re allowed to do.
That being said, this is really risky. If you do this, only work after hours and use your own computer, not your employer issued one.
I’ve done it. Make sure you use a different laptop and that the freelance gig is with another holding company other than the one you’re currently FTE at. Otherwise they’ll easily catch you on the back end. Also, no need to advertise that you’re doing this. The less people know, the better.
Nope! I know someone that was caught and fired.
I say do it if you can get away with it. Just be aware of the risks.
You’ll get better answers in the freelance bowl.
I have done this before, but the studio I freelanced with knew I was full time at another agency so they left me alone during the day.
I worked nights and weekends on a personal laptop. And didn’t tell anyone at my full time job.
Make sure they don’t sell you on 5-10 hours and you end up working 50
