Honestly depends on why fields and professions we are talking about.
If you can back the certs up with experience from your role, yes very beneficial. But really start reading and looking up job opportunities for where you want to pivot and see if you think the cert will give you a leg up on the competition
Agreed. I think it depends on the field. I know Project Management can translate to many roles, so a PMP might be something worth looking into.
Honestly seeing that you tagged for marketing, I would say mentoring startups outside of your job will give you a better run. Take certifications along but start actively positioning yourself as advisor and mentor. That should do the trick or moving up
I think just having worked at Amazon will help you get another job at another FAANG company. Courses help a little but I would try to show transferable skills and impact in your resume and lean on referrals. I got the CAPM and CSPO this year and I don’t think either helped in landing interviews.
Also, can I get a referral? I would love to work at Amazon!
Thanks for the advice. Do you have an active job you’d want to apply to? Amazon only does referrals in the sense that you’d need to send me your resume and the job id#. Feel free to DM
