How much yearly hike can one expect at Société Générale ?
"Depends on performance" seems to be a very vague answer.
Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.
Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?
Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
Thanks in advance.

At a big 4 firm and that’s not the way our firm compensates partners. Larger books correlate with more responsibility, so generally higher distributions, but there’s really no direct correlation between size of book and compensation. You can have partners with big books just milking existing clients and conversely partners with smaller books who are actively developing new projects and clients. My opinion is that we should be measured on the totality of our contributions.
“We are a tenured organization” is what I keep being told. I’m about 15% of my direct bob at big4.
If everyone voted with their feet, we’d have it shift I’m sure.
Certainly partner comp isn’t determined as a percent of your book. I suspect it will vary across firms. Not sure about a victory lap, but the model is designed so you mentor and train younger folks to replace you and continue building to pay your retirement. That’s a tougher model with smaller firms which is why there is so many acquisitions. Is it worth the squeeze, in theory no. If I could generate 3-4m of business alone, then being at a firm doesn’t make sense. But in most case It might take years to build that yourself with no named firm behind you. If I had that kind of surplus to live off of for a few years, I’d go on my own.
Are you basing that off of gross revenue?
