Is it worth asking for a pay raise if you know you are leaving the firm soon? Coming up on my one year at a firm. I'm already significantly underpaid, however, they are a smallish firm (15-20 attorneys) and it's insurance work. I'm already on the hunt for a new job and plan to leave within 2-4 months. Is it worth trying to get them to squeeze out more if I know I plan to leave for way more money?

How do you get good at thinking on your feet? I find I always need time to think and analyse before being able to answer client queries (even those that are considered simple by others). I don't want to rush and get it wrong. I avoid phone calls for this reason which isn't great when you're in the service industry so it's starting to impact my career.

I need to take lead on a call tomorrow and have to walk all parties through open issues and our clients thinking on the open issues. I have done this 2-3 times before but am afraid my fear of saying something wrong or using wrong words will overwhelm me again. Please help. Any tips, guidance, good vibes appreciated.
