Same with me. Here SM is my PL. I took a slow revenge. I created a heavy dependence on me for both project as well client. Once they can't survive the task without me, I resigned. Stated SM intolerable behaviour as reason. Now MD is connecting weekly twice for resignation revoke and SM is nowhere seen.

Depends on which team? On our team our SM is a loser nobody likes his tone nobody prefers working with him and yet he won’t change
Does he have a similar history or behaving same with others, if yes you can reach out to HR/MD, if not the blame will be put on you only of not performing your tasks!
This is very common in GN-SC.
Maybe he can increase the probation period or unsuccessful probation
