Are you referring to the thread where a woman was dealing with verbal abuse from an Indian man she rejected after a few dates?
If so, I hardly see how that’s an act of attention seeking or “acting cool”. It’s merely pointing out issues with a culture that has time and time again proven to be misogynistic and detrimental to the wellbeing of women. It’s about stopping all kinds of abuse that we as women encounter from antiquated mindsets. For some reason the discussions have revealed a common theme in the dating context...are we all imagining these experiences or are some
people having a hard time looking in the mirror?
Perhaps the Indian men who got so upset about that thread are the ones who are too fragile? Perhaps they can’t handle women challenging the status quo and finally pushing back on abusive mindsets. Maybe the attitudes of men who behave badly should be the area of focus instead of trying to silence women from talking about their real life experiences and challenging mindsets.
If you’re lucky enough to not have experienced the downsides of the culture, at least have the decency to let others have an open dialogue about the issues they’ve faced from men abusive with mindsets like that.
OP - that does not read like shaming of Indian culture or Indian men.
1) it is possible the OP herself is Indian.
2) Many of us will admit that Indian food can get heavy/carb focused to where we couldn’t afford to have it every day
Don’t read into stuff. No attack intended there

Other cultures post it but nobody guesses which culture they belong to. Or they assume it be Americans/caucasians.

Indian posts are quite evident. Either the post or comments reveal identity. Someone even exposed the name in the screenshot by mistake but she took it down.
It’s a pretty sensitive issue for sure. I recognize the importance of calling out patriarchy in all societies (including Indian societies), but my theory is that we are still yet to come a long way in owning our identity and in self-shaming. While we are are not colonized anymore, I think there is a lot of colonial baggage we are yet to shed away. That is why most posts on anything Indian are riddled with division, insecurity and abuse. At the same time, it’s healthy to talk about and debate things openly.
