Best life lesson I learned from Deloitte: don’t ever, EVER sign a contract that demands you return the sign on bonus if you leave within a year. I thought to myself, “I would never leave a company within a year”, but I grossly underestimated how much I could hate a job.

So a (non-Asian) friend asked me (also non-Asian) to order Chinese or Korean food with her to celebrate Lunar New Year. I declined, saying that it seems weird to ask a Chinese employee to serve *me* on *their* holiday. To be transparent, I do have a thing about holidays and labor, trying to avoid shopping and accessing services on holidays, so this might be part of that feeling I have, but I also feel my whiteness on this one.
